Bring a food pantry donation to the show for a free entry into a “Nutcracker Holiday Raffle Basket”

The Metro Edge Figure Skating Club of Missouri is proud to announce that the Sunday 5:00 PM show will feature an exhibition by U.S. Silver Medalist, World Competitor and St. Louis native, Brandon Mroz! Brandon is one of four Senior level men that are on the most elite "Team USA" selected by the International Committee to represent the USA at International Skating Union events. Mroz will be competing for the U.S. title and a spot on the Olympic team at the AT&T U.S. Figure Skating Championships on January 16-24, 2010. Mroz will join the cast in the lobby for autographs following the show. We hope everyone in the community will come out to see this world class talent and enjoy the holiday classic, the Nutcracker this weekend.

“Have you been dreaming of Sweets and Sugar Plum Fairies – then this is the community event for your entire family. This abridged one-hour version of the Nutcracker is a magical experience the whole family will enjoy! The traditional ballet has been adapted to ice; skaters in costumes will glide across the shimmering ice to Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite with magical sets as the backdrop.

The cast includes 100 area skaters. The principal skaters are competitive skaters from area skating clubs who will spin and jump their way through this holiday classic! The show also features skaters from the Webster Ice Arena's skate school program as adorable sweets, mice, fairies and more. In the spirit of the season, the area skaters are donating their time to collect food items for the Rock Hill-Webster Ministries food pantry. Patrons are asked to help by bringing non-perishable food items to the show. In return, guests will be entered into a special holiday raffle!”
